The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has called on the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to prevent delays in the airlift of intending pilgrims for the forthcoming Hajj exercise.
The Director General of the Board, Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, made the appeal while receiving a delegation from National Hajj Commission of Nigeria during an official visit to Kano.
Matawalle said the Board had completed all necessary arrangements for intending pilgrims, stressing that timely airlift operations were critical to ensuring a smooth and hitch-free Hajj exercise.
He expressed concern over possible delays by air carriers, noting that such setbacks could cause inconvenience to pilgrims and disrupt the overall schedule.
Earlier, the head of the delegation and NAHCON Commissioner for the North-West Zone, Muhammad Bin Usman, said the team was in Kano to assess facilities provided for intending pilgrims in the state.
He added that the delegation had toured several states across the North-West region to ensure that all facilities were in proper condition, assuring that concerns raised would be conveyed to the commission’s headquarters for necessary action.
Also speaking, the NAHCON Zonal Director for Kano Zone, Ahmad Muhammad Kalgo, commended the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board for its level of preparedness and urged it to sustain enlightenment and sensitization programmes for intending pilgrims, particularly on Hajj induction.
