Kano state fire service has confirmed the death of 27 year old Ahmed Labaran due to road accident at Sharada in Kano municipal local government area.
Narrating the incident,the public relations officer,Saminu Yusif Abdullahi said the agency recieved a distress call at 2:14 pm that a truck had hit a motorcycle conveying two people 25 year old Umar Labaran and his brother Ahmed Labaran.
He said the rescue team succeeded in retrieving the bodies unconcious and coveyed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist hospital where Doctors confirmed the death of Ahmed.
Similarly,the fire fighters have suceeded in quenching a fire outbreak at Layin Watari,Hotoro GRA Kano.
The public relations officer,explained that the fire was ignited after residents of the apartment kept a mosquito coil on top of an empty water bottle.
Saminu Yusif said the fire fighters used a jet commodore from the central fire station with support from a water tanker at a nearby filling station to put out the fire.
He cautioned residents aginst indiscriminate use of mosquito coil,fire and electric appliances.Saying that in the last few days the state has witnessed high number of fire disasters within the metropolitan local government areas.
