A Kano Sharia Court sitting in Fagge has ordered the remand of a 25-year-old man, Mujahid Rabiu in a Correctional centre for allegedly stealing sheep.
The defendant, who resides at kwana hudu Quarters Kano, is facing a count charge of being in possession of sheep suspected to be stolen.
The defendant, however, pleaded guilty to the charge.
The Judge, Dr Bello Khalid, ordered the remand of the defendant in a correctional centre and adjourned the matter until March 23,2022 for sentence.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr Abdul Wada, had told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb.21 at Kwana hudu, Kano.
He said that on the same date at about 4:00p.m, the defendant was found in possession of ram roaming on the street.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provision of sections 198 of the Kano State Sharia Law.
In a similar development,the court had also remanded a 28-year-old man, Bashir Aminu in a Correctional centre for allegedly stealing motorcycle worth N94,000.
The defendant is facing a two-count charge bordering on criminal house trespass and theft.
Bashir however, pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Judge, Dr Bello Khalid, ordered the remand of the defendant in a correctional centre and adjourned the matter until March 14, 2022 for sentence.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Mr Abdul Wada, said that the defendant criminally trespassed into the house of Salisu Ibrahim and stole a motorcycle ( Suzuki hijoc) blue in colour on February 21.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provision of section 133 of the Kano State Sharia Law.
