Kano state road traffic agency(KAROTA),has confirmed the arrest of a young man,Lawan Khalid for allegedly stealing GSM phones and perfumes.
The public relations officer of the agency,Nabulisi Abubakar Kofar Na’isa made the disclosure to newsmen.
According to him,the young man was arrested after tip off by various shop owners that the suspect is in the habit of stealing from unsuspecting shop owners.
Nabulisi Maintained that,Khalid hired a tricycle to convey him to different destinations where he commits the crime.

The tricycle driver,Yahaya Adamu explained how the suspect and his friend instructed him to convey them to various destinations without knowledge of how they perpetrate their crimes.
The suspect, Lawan Khalid spoke extensively on how they decieve unsuspecting shop owners and abscond with their properties.
He said,he committed the crime with his friend who was on the run,and had stolen six phones on Tuesday afternoon before he was arrested.
While pleading for leniency,Lawan attributed his attitude to drug abuse and use of intoxicants.
One of the shop owners,Hamza Ichaba narrated how the suspect and his friend allegedly whisked away two phones while pretending to purchase perfume.
He commended, the prompt response of KAROTA in apprehending the suspects.
The public relations officer of the Kano road traffic agency KAROTA reaffirmed the agency’s readiness to eradicate all forms of crimes. Saying that the suspect will be handed over to the police for proper action.
Time Express reports that a few months ago KAROTA succeeded in apprehending a group of young men for injuring and snatching a handset from a young woman.
