The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps Major General Shu’aibu Ibrahim has charged Corps members to exchange ideas and build a lasting friendship that would build a united Nigeria.
General Shu’aibu Ibrahim disclosed this during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2022 Bach A stream 2 corps members in Kano held at the Permanent Orientation Camp Kusalla, Karaye Local Government Area of Kano state.
The Director-General who was represented by the Coordinator of the Scheme in Kano Hajiya Aisha Tata Mohammad said the Scheme was established to assemble Corps members from diverse ethics, religious and socio-economic backgrounds aimed at broadening them to have a better understanding of their country.
He said the NYSC scheme would enable the Corp members to have an enabling environment to effectively contribute their own quota in building a great nation.
General Shuaibu Ibrahim encouraged the Corp members to imbibe the culture of patriotism and dedication, aimed at enhancing unity and peaceful coexistence of the country.

The NYSC DG charged the newly sworn Corp members to ensure that they utilize the skills acquisition and entrepreneur development programme so that they will become self-employed and employers of labour.
In her address, the State coordinator Hajiya Aisha tata Muhammad who was represented by Camp Director Isa Isiaka said a total of 1751 Corp members were registered comprising 961 males and 790 females.
She noted that the orientation course was designed to prepare and equip the Corp members with physical and mental training aimed at preparing them for their unique roles during the service year.
Aisha Tata Mohammad cautioned them against indulging in cultism, drug abuse , and other social vices.
She added that the Kano Orientation camp had adhered to the Covid-19 safety Protocol.
