Establishing SON Directorate in kano, a positive step toward ensuring Standard of Goods – Emir Bayero

The Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has described the establishment of the Directorate office in kano as a positive development towards enhancing the standard of Goods.

The Emir stated this when he received the New regional director of the Standard organization of Nigeria SON Mr. Albert Wilberforce who paid him a courtesy visit at his palace.

He said Kano being a commercial hub of sub-Saharan Africa needed such development with aim of enhancing the standardization of Goods.

The Emir called on the business community and other stakeholders to collaborate with the agency in ensuring that the Goods they provided were up to standard geared towards uplifting the nation’s economy.

“I called on the business community to ensure that the goods they provided are up to standard, and implore the officials of SON to implore diplomacy while discharging their constitutional responsibilities “

Earlier the New Regional Director of the Agency Mr. Albert Wilberforce said before the establishment of the new directorate, kano was operating under the northwest directorate, but with regards to the Commercial magnitude of the state, a new directorate was established for the State.

He said he was at the palace to introduce himself as the new Regional Director, and to seek Royal blessings and guidance aimed at achieving the stated goals.

” The Director-General Malam Faruk Salim in his magnitude decided that kano should be pulled out from the Northwest directorate and should be a directorate of its own, aimed at ensuring the standardization of Goods, and the new directorates has been established and I was assigned to be the pioneer regional Director”

Mr. Albert Wilberforce Solicited the Support of the Emir and the entire people of the State, geared towards achieving maximum success.
