As the world marks lntetnational women’s day, the National President of Jam’iyyar Matan Arewa, Hajiya Rabi Musa Saulawa, a sociocultural women Organization has called for women freedom in the country.
The National President of the Organization made the called it a public lecture to marks the lntetnational women’s day in Kaduna.
With the Theme”Gender Equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”
Hajiya Rabi Saulawa further said”for the entire Northwest state we only have one woman in Kaduna state house of assembly, as for the house of Representative we only have 13 women in the House.
“We want to ensure that women are fully participating in Politics, not only been a Voters, but should contest in key positions, so that they can be voted into various positions, as you can see women came out and vote but at the end of the day no positions where been allocated to them,this narrative should be stop.
Also Speaking at the event the guest lecturer Hajiya Asma’u Maikudi how is also the INEC Kaduna Electoral Resident Commissioner, said” women should equire their voters card this will enable them to votes candidates of theirs choice, INEC have take resgistration of voters to ward level, this will end the surferring that they encounter of going to long distance.
” This registration exercise will end by June this year,so l encourage you women to go an have your voters card ,this will enable you to vote candidate of your choice comes 2023 general elections.
In an lnterview during the event,Mrs, Florance Diya Aya, former Member Kaduna state house of Assembly, former Member house of Representatives, from Sanga in southern Party of Kaduna state,said”as the world is markin this day women should unite and support their women comterpant into various key Political positions,
“We need more positions for women, to showcase our potentials,that is why I mentor women how to involve in Politics through sensitization seminar, workshop for them, and l believe very soon women will occurred key positions, she added.
