The Nigerian Labour Congress, (NLC), Kano State Chapter, says it will join hand with the national body to protest against the continuous strike by the Academic Staff Union Of Universities, ASUU.
The Chairman of the Congress, Comrade Kabiru Ado Minjibir, disclose this during a symposium for the Mayday celebration.
The union also said they are in consultation with the state government, to ensure a refund of money deducted from workers’ salaries.
On the issue of salary deduction by the Kano Government, the chairman of the union, comrade Ado Minjibir, said the economic meltdown globally has forced the government to deduct workers’ salaries for some months.
He assured the members that they will continue to engage the government for a refund.
On the lingering ASUU strike, the union said it will join forces with the national body to protest and to draw the government’s attention to the plight of the students.
Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, represented by the state’s Head of Civil Service, Usman Bala, stressed that Kano State has been the most labour friendly, and promised to sustain it.
