The Nigeria’ Association of Women Journalists kebbi state chapter has called on all political parties in the state to select female running mate in decision making to contribute positively to the development of the nation and World at large.

The statement says Politics in recent years has been dominated by men, thereby, limiting women to participate meaningfully in public offices, undermining their potentials.
The statement stressed the need for Gender sensitivity in poltical arena , It is therefore pertinent to promote gender Equality in political leadership in Nigeria, particularly, ahead of 2023 General Elections.
“It is against the backdrop that the association frown at women been sidelined in participation in all spheres of human activities.
The association strongly appeals to the leadership of political parties to, in the interest of inclusive society and development, consider picking a woman as running mate for the office of vice president and deputy governors of the respective states.
The association commends all political parties in the state for conducting peaceful primary elections, congratulates the Winners, and wish them a more hitch free and successful election in the forthcoming secondary elections. Rel.
