Kano State Government has donated cows to Boarding Final year students who were retained in their schools during the Eid El-Kabir Sallah festivity.
Speaking on the government’s gesture, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education Kano, Hajiya Lauratu Ado Diso said that it was aimed at making the students happy during the Sallah celebrations since they are observing the Sallah in their respective schools.
She pointed out that retaining the students which is not a new issue is purely done to support the students writing NECO, NABTEB and NBAIS examinations to concentrate on their studies so as to score good grades in their Final examinations.
The Permanent Secretary added that in addition to the Cows “Kudin cefane” was also given to the Principals/ Directors of the schools so that special dishes will be served to the students on the Sallah Day.
Appreciating the kind gesture of the government, Chairman committee of the Principals/Directors of the Boarding Schools, Alhaji Saidu Haruna Imam commended the state government for donation of the cows to the students of their schools.
Alhaji Saidu Imam who is Also the principal Director of GSS Bichi, noted with gratitude that the Government of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is making the donation of the cows a yearly affair, hoping that the tempo will be sustained.
While also thanking the ministry of education for making the activity a reality and a yearly affair, he said retaining the final year students is a good initiative, observing that if they were allowed to go home some may not come back and write their Examinations.
