The
Nigerian Correctional Service has confirmed the attack on Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre in the Federal Capital Territory by Gunmen at about 22:00hrs
In a statement signed by the Service Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Umar men of the Armed squad of the Nigerian Correctional Service and other security agencies attached to the custodial centre have responded and calm has been restored to the facility.
Umar also confirmed that some of the inmates have escaped but the Service is yet to ascertain the number of escaped inmates and those still in custody.
