As the revalidation of the voter’s registration exercise was ongoing nationwide Kano state has emerged as one of the leading states in terms of voter registration.
The public relations officer of the Independent National electoral commission INEC kano office Adam Ahmad Maulud stated this during an interview with journalists in kano
He said the INEC kano office has opened a new registration center at Sani Abacha indoor stadium with over 30 machines .
Maulud explained that the new center works three times weekly, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
“According to the last update, only one state was ahead of kano in terms of the registration, but I believe with this large turn out we are ahead of all the states in the federation”
The public relations office maintained that the large turnout of people for the revalidation of the voter’s registration cards was a result of a massive sensitization campaign by INEC on the importance of registration.
Some of the eligible voters who spoke to radio Nigeria commended the efforts of INEC for opening the new registrartion çenter at sani Abacha indoor stadium.
It could be recalled that INEC has scheduled 30th 0f july as the deadline for closing the registration exercise
