The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajia Sadiya Umar Faruk has said Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme (GEEP 2.0) was set up to provide access credit to the poor and vulnerable people engaged in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise.
The Minister made the comment at an advanced training on GEEP 2.0 on Digitization and Registration for South East Zone.
She said the Programme is an Interest Free and Collateral Empowerment Programme, implemented alongside a financial partner.
She explained that “after the creation of her ministry in 2019, the programme was restructured to GEEP 2, the rationale for the new structure was to have a top bottom representation at the federal, state and local government levels respectively”.
According to her, the ministry decided to adopt a modern technology/digitization with a view to ensuring the success and progress of its activities among others.
The Minister however appealed to those engage for the training to put in their best and work hard so as to achieve the desired result.
The advanced Training on GEEP 2.0 was held in the following states in the Zone namely: Imo, Ebonyi,
