The federal government has officially conducted the declaration of the Dala inland Dry port in Kano.
The minister of transport Alhaji Mu’azu Jaji Sambo made declarations at Dala inland Dry port Kano.
He said the administration of president Mohammad Buhari was committed to uplifting import and export businesses to enhance the economic well-being of the Nation.
The minister explained that the inland dry port projects were conceived as part of the federal government reform program designed to decongest the seaport and take shipping and off services closer to importers and exporters in the hinterland.
“It is worthy to mention that no government has given premium attention to the development of this inter modern transportation infrastructures like president Mohammad Buhari, and his administration”
In his remark governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje represented by his Deputy De Nasir Yusuf Gawuna said the kano state is the commercial and investment nerve center in Nigeria hence the declaration of the Dala inland Dry port in the state was very timely.
” the ancient kano has the history of being a major commercial and manufacturing center in west African sub-region even before the incorporation of the country into the European system of global commerce”
He added that the project would harness the resource potentials of the state towards improving the lively hood of the teaming populace.
Earlier Executive secretary Nigeria Shippers Council Mr. Emanuel Jimeh said the evolution of inland dry ports in Nigeria was geared toward promoting efficient transportation, cost-effectiveness at Nigerian ports, and enhancing trade facilitation.
In his Good well message, the Managing Director of Dala inland Dry Port Alhaji Ahmad Rabiu Commended the federal and state Governments for their tireless efforts in ensuring that the project come to reality.
