Jigawa State Government has donated the sum of N5million to the families of 3 Vigilante Members who lost their lives and 2 others injured in Suletankarkar Local Government Area of the state.
Presenting the donation to the families of the deceased, the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini, said he was in Suletankarkar to condole with the families of the decease and also to check on two other members who sustained injuries during an encounter with bandits in the Area.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Special Service and Council Affairs, Alhaji Abba Muhammad,mni, the SSG said the two injured members were also beneficiaries of the donation.
He explained that, Jigawa State Government is proud of the sacrifice made by the Vigilante Members.
Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir Fanini further explained that, the State government appreciate and honour these Vigilante members for their sacrifice and commitment towards protecting lives and properties of the people in the area.
The SSG had also visited the two officers who sustained some injuries during the attack.
In his respond, the Chairman, Suletankarkar Local Government Council, Honorable, Saleh Ahmed Danzomo, commended Governor Badaru Abubukar for the gesture and urged the people in the Area to intensify prayers for Allah`s intervention on security challanges facing the Country.
Also in his remarks, the State Commandant Vigilante, Umar Salisu Kazaure expressed appreciation for the gesture and assured that his men in collaboration with the security agencies in the State will continue to work hard to ensure safety of lives and property’s of Citizenry in the State.
In their separate response, the families of the deceased and those who were injured thanked the State Government for the donation.
