The National Youth Service Corps has reassured the commitment of the scheme to extending and enhancing the health status of the general populace specially rural communities under the NYSC Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers.
The Coordinator of the Scheme in Kano Hajiya Aisha Tata Mohammed Stated this during a free medical outreach program organized by the Corps members to the people of Farin Ruwa Community at Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State.
She said the free medical outreach aimed to promote the well-being of the indigent persons on the grass root by granting them easy access to free and quality health care.
She said the program was largely implemented through medical outreaches across the country, saying corps medical volunteers carry out diagnoses, treatments Including minor medical procedures, and referrals of patient care.

“Drugs eyeglasses and other medical consumables are given to patients free of charge, I’m pleased to inform you that so far over two million persons have been attended to by the NYSC medical teams on the HRD platform”
Hajiya Aisha tata Mohammed explained that the scheme has donated over three hundred wheelchairs with the support of partners, stressing that other activities under the scheme include the establishment of community-based clinics, setting up clinics for NYSC secretariats, first aid administration, and humanitarian aid.
In a remark, the member representing Shanono constituency at the federal house of representative Alhaji Yusif Adamu Badau represented by Alhaji Sunusi Umar Applauded the commitment of the corps members and assured his support for the well-being of the people of his constituency.
