Kano state hisbah board has succeeded, in apprehending 19 females and 4 males at Nasarawa GRA Kano.
Speaking to newsmen while parading those arrested, Commander General of the board, Sheikh Dr. Harun Muhammad Sani Ibn Sina explained that the youths we’re apprehended after tip off by good Samaritan’s living in the area.
He noted that, under cover agents of the hisbah board, investigated and discovered that, underage youths we’re engaged in drug pushing and other illicit acts in various locations within the metropolitan city.
Sheikh Ibn Sina stressed that, the locations include Sultan Road, Tukuru Road and hospital road where young girls line up by the road side in the night for prospective customers.
The commander general maintained that many have tested positive to pregnancy and HIV/AIDS screening conducted at hisbah headquarters Sharada Kano.
He said the board has commenced investigation and would invite their parents to hisbah board for necessary action while those from neighbouring states would be repatriated.
Sheikh Ibn Sina, charged parents and guardians to be more vigilant, and report any suspected person or character to relevant authorities, as Kano state hisbah board will not relent in it’s efforts of sanitizing Kano free of all forms of vices.
Fatima Musa of Rimin Kebe quarters, who also serve as an agent who gives out young girls to men after recieving five hundred to one thousand naira, spoke on the activities that led to their arrest.
Radio Nigeria reports that last week, Kano state hisbah board evacuated 931 beggers from the streets where some tested positive to pregnancy and HIV screening.
