The new Commissioner of Education Kano State, Rt. Hon. Ya’u Abdullahi Yan’shana has pledged to work towards achieving the mission and vision of Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in promoting the development of the state Education sector.
The Commissioner was speaking during his maiden meeting with the management staff of the ministry immidiately after his assumption of office today (Monday).
He said that ministry of education is one the largest ministries in the state that has vital responsibilities, therefore, all hands must be on deck to ensure effective performance in the discharge of such responsibilities.
He noted with concern that as a sector that was vested with a duty of good upbringing and knowledge imparting from the early to the adolescent ages of our children, staff of the ministry and other stakeholders should consider thier services as a trust.
Rt. Hon. Yan’shana who urged the management staff to always put Kano and it’s people in mind, stressed the need for hardwork, dedication and selfless services so that the set objectives for the establishment of the ministry will be achieved.
While soliciting for the support and cooperation of the people of the ministry and it’s parastatals, he expressed his readiness to serve diligently and to the best of his ability within the period of his stewardship as a Commissioner of Education in the state.
He also gave the assurance of operating an open door policy as well as allowing all to take thier responsibilities with vigour.
He however, pointed out that he decided to start his activities with management meeting with a view to getting himself well acquinted with the departments, their duties and their challenges, so that he can effect possible changes for the sector to move to a greater heights.
Earlier, in her welcome address during the meeting, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Hajiya Lauratu Ado Diso assured the unflinching support and cooperation of the entire staff of the ministry and it’s Parastatals for the new Commissioner to succeed in his given assignment.
