Transport union leaders guarantee support for FRSC to tackle reckless driving in FCT.

The FCT Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC is to extend this year’s Ember Months Campaign beyond motor Parks to Government establishments, Worship Centers and other public places.

FCT Sector commander, Mr Oga Ochi stated this while speaking with newsmen on the Ember Months Campaign in Abuja.

Mr Ochi said this part of strategies is to inculcate driving culture in all motorists for effective traffic management in the territory.

He added that the command had held series of meetings with stakeholders and transport Union Leaders soliciting their support.

According to him, the command identified over speeding, Over loading and reckless driving as the causes of major road accidents in the FCT.

He maintained that adequate logistics and manpower had been mobilized with the support of Special the Marshal Unit to address increased Vehicular movement in the last four months of the year.

Mr Oga Ochi stressed that all black spots had been identified with special teams constituted to attend to emergencies across the Six Area Councils.

He warned motorists particularly commercial drivers to abide by traffic rules as the sector would carry out comprehensive enforcement to check the excesses of road users.

The Theme for this year’s Ember Months Campaign is Avoid Speeding, Overloading and Unsafe Tyres to Arrive Alive.
