Boosting Agricultural Production , our Priority – Senator Gaya Tells Constituents

Senator representing Kano south, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, has reiterated his commitment to boost agricultural production,to ensure food sufficiency and reduce unemployment.

Alhaji Kabiru Gaya made the disclosure during a media dialogue in Kano.

According to him,
over the years he had provided thousands of irrigation canals for farmers in Kano south, which had gone a long way in strengthening food security , alleviating poverty and provided employment.

He stressed that if re-elected he would use his wealth of experience at the Senate, to expedite action on completion of road networks initiated by the present administration, to move kano to international standards.

On the issue of enterepreneurship and vocational training, the senator explained that, youths and women would be given priority by inculcating skills acquisition to become self reliant.

The lawmaker pointed out that, Kano state would enjoy the dividends of democracy through legislations that would further strengthen it as a commercial nerve center.

Senator Gaya maintained that, he had built over 600 classrooms, 18 skills acquisition centers, 18 health centers as well as construction of 17-18 kilometers of asphalt road with drainages,among others.

“I was the first governor that installed solar powered panels in the country, scholarship opportunities for indigenous students,health centers and a lots of road projects”

He highlighted that, he spearheaded the presentation of the bill seeking for the establishment of the Northeast development commission, and other bills aimed at moving the country forward.

The lawmaker opined that, the new electoral act would make it difficult to rig elections while the electoral commission bill is on the pipeline, which would provide legal framework for investigation and prosecution of electoral offences, for the general improvement of the electoral process in Nigeria.

He charged eligible voters to vote for APC at all levels, as it is the only party that is committed to good governance.

“You don’t use money to buy votes but rather use the money to touch people’s life through viable projects that will motivate them to vote for you”

Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, a former governor of Kano state who doubles as senator representing Kano south senatorial district for 16 years is currently the flag bearer of the APC seeking reelection as senator for the fifth time.
