NMDC patners with FRSC to decongest traffic wethin the center

The National Metallurgical Development Centre, NMDC, is partnering the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, to ensure that safety signs are constructed and placed at strategic positions to decongest traffic within the domain of the Centre.

Director General of NMDC, Prof. Linus Asuquo made this known during the unveiling of Road Safety Sign Posts Sponsored by the Centre at strategic positions within and outside the Centre with the FRSC, Plateau State Command in Jos.

Prof Asuquo who stated that the collaboration was to ensure safety around the Centre added that there was need for corporate organisations to foster peaceful coexistence through the extension of kind gestures to host communities.

He frowned at situations where corporate organisations would be accommodated and in some cases protected by host communities but no reciprocal gesture in appreciation of the goodwill of those communities.

The NMDC Boss stressed that from inception, NMDC had enjoined a very good harmonious relationship with its Host Community hence the need to ensure smooth traffic for human and efficient delivery of goods and services within and outside the Centre.

The NMDC Boss said that the construction of the Road Safety Sign Posts was one out of other gestures extended to the Host community.

Asuquo thanked the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps,(FRSC) Plateau State Command, Corps Commander Alphosus Hakim Godwin for his visionary acumen to partner with Public and Private organizations in the state to ensure that road users are well enlightened through campaigns and use of sign posts to minimize road accidents.

He assured the Helmsman of FRSC, Plateau State Command that NMDC is always willing to partner any private or public establishment that shares the same vision of turning around the economic fortunes of Nigeria through collaborative efforts in Research and Development.

On his part, the FRSC Sector Commander, Plateau State Command, Commander Alphonsus Hakim Godwin appreciated Prof Asuquo for his immeasurable transformation of the NMDC and assured the FRSC of Continuous Collaboration to ensure that the Core Mandate of the corps of creating a safe Motoring Environment for the General Public is achieved.
