The Standard Organisation of Nigeria has reassured the teeming populace of the nation of its determination in ensuring that industries get their products calibrated.
The Director General of the Agency Malam Faruk Salim stated this during the flagg-off of the national calibration services held at a rice milling company in kano.
He said the calibration animation was aimed at ensuring the standardization of Nigerian industries.
Malam Faruk Salim noted that the calibration will ensure the upgrade of Nigerian products so that they will compete with other products across the globe.
“We bring our equipment here to do the calibration–free so that the industries would see and to learn how to ensure that their products were up to standard, which will then enhances the competitiveness of their products both within Nigeria and beyond “
The Director General explained that the mobile calibration lab will be launched soon in Geo-political zones of the federation aimed at ensuring that their products were being calibrated.
In his remark the Regional Director SON in. Kano Mr. Albert Wilberforce said the exercise was kick-started to boost boosting the morale of indigenous companies to achieve greater heights.
Earlier the Group Managing Director of a Rice Milling Company Alhaji Isa Muhammad Gerawa said the initiative was a welcome development.
He applauded the federal government for the closure of land borders which pave way for locally produced items to be patronized.
