Traders at Kachako central market, Takai local government area Kano, were thrown into deep sorrow, following a late afternoon fire outbreak, that completely razed 150 temporary shops.
Reports indicate that, the weekly market with dimension of about 2,000 to 1,500 ft,used as a business premises, was set ablaze by youths, suspected to be smoking within the vicinity of the market.
Confirming the incident,public relations officer,Kano state fire service, Alhaji Saminu Yusif Abdullahi explained that, the agency recieved an emergency call from Takai local government area, security service unit (SSU), that the central market was in fire.

“On their arrival they found that, some part of the market was ablaze”
He said,over 800 shops were saved while 150 temporary shops were burnt beyond recognition.
The public relations officer noted that 1 jet WRT24 was used to quench the fire.
