The Kano State Government has banned tricycles from riding on some expressways within the metropolis.
The Managing Director of Kano Road Traffic Agency Alhaji Baffa Babba Dan Agundi disclosed this while briefing the media in Kano.
He said in an efforts to decongest traffic and ensure sanity in traffic operations within the metropolis , government has banned tricycle operators from riding on Hadejia Road, from Mundubawa roundabout to Gezawa, and also from Tal’udu to Gwarzo roundabout
He said to ensure that the public does not face any hardship or inconveniences as a result of the decision , it had earlier provided an alternative, where modern ass transit buses and taxis have already started operations on the routes.

Alhaji Baffa Babba Dan’agundi explained that the green tricycles that carries Good were exempted from the decision.
“To augment Tricycle riders who may lose their jobs as a result of the directives, the government had started giving tricycle taxis to ride through kano state investment and property aimed at en ring no one looses his job.
Alhaji Mansur Tanimu is the chairman AmalgalosesTricycle Riders Association kano chapter, He said the association was aware of the decision.
He urged his members to be law-abiding, saying they will table their complaints before the government geared toward ensuring that their grievances were been resolved amicably.
Malam Abdu Musa and Abba Musa Ibrahim are tricycle operators riding on the express roads banned, they said the decision was too harsh and would affect them negatively.
The enforcement of the new government directives will begins from 30th November 2022.
