Plans are under way to upgrade the Malikiyya School of Health and Social Sciences Bauchi to a full pledged Private University to complement Federal Government’s effort towards providing school age with University Education in the country.
The Proprietor Malikiyya School of Health and Social Sciences Mohammed Aminu disclosed this in Bauchi shortly after he received a delegation from Sudan International University Khartoum on a Familiarization visit to the collage.

Mohammed Aminu said the visit was sequel to his recent effort in Sudan recently to seek collaboration with the Sudanese University to upgrade the Malikiya school to University.
He said the viability of the proposed University is not in doubt, considering the population explosion currently being experienced noting that the enrolment so far has been over a thousand students every session.
The proprietor disclosed that apart from the existing structure the college has a plot of land at Yelwa in Bauchi metropolis that can take a full pledge university as required by the National Universities Commission (NUC)
He also affirmed that with the current infrastructure in the college the University can kick-start with an enrolment of 1000 students into various Medical courses that include Medical laboratory, Dentistry, Community Health, X-ray among other sciences courses.
The proprietor has assured the people of the state that the partnership will add value to tertiary education in Nigeria by using modern technology, innovative ideas through research to produce graduates ready for industries, society and entrepreneurship.
He noted that the University will also complement to the quest for more private Universities in the north compared to the South where private Universities are playing greater roles in the education of their children.
