The federal government says upgrade of the National grade is currently ongoing in all parts of the nation.
The minister of power Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu stated this while inspecting the ongoing upgrade of kano transmission substation at kumbotso Kano.
He said the government was injecting enormous resources to upgrade the national grade, which is the first of its kind in the history of Nigeria.
Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu maintained that the Kumbotso Electricity substation which is currently receiving power from kaduna through 330 single line was very inadequate, hence the federal government has approved the procurement of a double circle 330 quad line to bring more energy, aimed at enhancing electricity supply.

“the 330 single line provides only six hundred megawatts of electricity, which is inadequate to the people of this area,but when the installation of the new 330 double quad line is completed it would provide over two thousand megawatts of electricity”
The minister explained that the Buharis Administration has invested huge amount of resources in the aspect of national greed upgrade, hence Nigerians should exercise patience , saying soon the ongoing projects would start yielding positive results.
Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu assured the elferal populace of the nation that the Buhari-led administration would not relent in ensuring that the ongoing electricity projects were being completed and utilized.
He also inspected the ongoing upgrade of the Rimin Zakara transmitting stations and Others substations domiciled in the State
