The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps Brigadier General Mohammed Fadah has Charged the 2022 Batch C Stream 1 Corps Members to promote National Unity and Shun Fake News and Other Social Vices.
The DG States this during the swearing of the new corps members posted to kano at the permanent orientation camp Kusalla, Karaye Kano.
Represented by the state coordinator of the scheme in Kano Hajiya Aisha Tata Mohammed said one of the objectives of the NYSC was the promotion of National Unity and integration, stressing that posting corps members outside of their states of origin would entrench the culture of working together in an atmosphere filled with friendship, peace, harmony and shared vision of a great Nation.
He implores the corps members to sustain a high level of discipline and enthusiasm and remain compliant with the Camp rules and regulations.
“Let me also remind you that the oath of allegiance you have taken today is significant, as it is expected to guide your conduct in the service year as well as have an everlasting influence on your life after service, you are also enjoined to familiarize yourselves with the provision NYSC Act and the NYSC Bye-Laws”
Brigadier General Muhammad Fadah, Reminds the corps members that white-collar jobs are not available, hence they should avail themselves of the opportunities for self-employment offered through the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme.
Earlier the NYSC Coordinator in Kano Hajiya Aisha Assistant Director Mr. Ben Akpata said at the time of closing registration at the camp 1500 corps members were registered.
She urged the newly sworn-in corps members to exhibit a high sense of discipline and commitment and should adhere strictly to the rules and regulations of Camp.
The ceremony was graced by officials of the NYSC and other Stakeholders.
