Security alert: Group Cautions US, UK, others against causing fears in Nigeria

A non governmental organization named Citizens Stability Forum has expressed dismay on the recent security alert made available by some foreign nations which had in flinched fears In the minds of Nigerians .

Mukhtar Lawal stated this while addressing journalist during a media briefing organized by the forum in Kano.

He said the recent happenings surrounding the terror alert raised by the United States , United Kingdom,and Canadian Embassies in Nigeria have left bad taste on the Side of Nigerians.

Mukhtar Lawal explained that even though the foreign nations have the capacity on security intelligence , it would have been better to channel such warnings through diplomatic channels where adequate plans and provisions will be made to not only avert the situation but also apprehend the planners and sponsor of such act.

“This action of security alerts by the USA, UK and other foreign nations have caused an unprecedented fear into the lives of Nigerians especially those living in Abuja, and could also weaken the moral of our Security personnel”

Mukhtar Lawal further stated that the citizens stability forum condemned such act by the US, UK and other foreign countries , stressing that the information had caused Panic, and undue anxiety among Nigerians.

“Every Country around the world has it’s own security challenges , which can be In different forms , this singular acts taken by the US Embassy in Nigerian will likely worsen the livelihood of many citizens of Abuja and other parts of the Nation”

The Citizens Stability Forum Urged Nigerians and the Nigerian government to draw the attention of the US government on the need to respect security protocols on intelligent sharing of Nigeria.

” The US Should be reminded that such public move by the US Embassy in addition to withholding Security intelligence sharing with the Nigerian government will only emboldem terrorist and worsen the lives of citizens and residents of Nigeria”
