Combating Corruption Requires Collective Effort – CHRICED.

The Resource Centre for Human Rights & Civic Education (CHRICED) has emphasized the need for collective action in combating corruption, which has hindered Nigeria’s development and perpetuated po Upverty.

At a statewide consultative meeting on fostering transparency and accountability in constituency projects, CHRICED’s Executive Director, Dr. Ibrahim M. Zikirullahi, highlighted the devastating impact of corruption on Nigeria’s socio-economic landscape.

Zikirullahi noted that despite the country’s vast resources, corruption has led to widespread poverty, malnutrition, insecurity, and poor healthcare, among other challenges.

He stressed that constituency projects, meant to benefit communities, have been undermined by corruption, inefficiency, and lack of accountability.

CHRICED advocates for greater transparency, accountability, and community involvement in planning and executing constituency projects.

The organization emphasized the need for citizens to take an active role in demanding accountability from leaders and institutions.

Zikirullahi concluded by calling on Nigerians to recognize their responsibility in combating corruption and promoting a culture of accountability and integrity.

The meeting was graced by various stakeholders, workings journalist and CSOs.
