Corps Commander Umar Mas’ud Matazu has taken the reins as the new Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) RS1.2 Kano State Command, succeeding Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Ahmed Tijjani Mohammed.
Matazu’s assumption of duty, effective October 14, 2024, follows his successful tenure as Sector Commander of FRSC RS10.3 Zamfara State Sector Command, where he made notable strides in enhancing road safety and reducing accidents .
Commander Matazu has pledged to build upon his predecessor’s achievements, prioritizing collaboration with stakeholders, including government agencies, traditional institutions, transport unions, and the motoring public.
He emphasized the collective responsibility of ensuring road safety and appealed to the people of Kano State for their unwavering support in achieving FRSC’s Corporate Strategic Goal 1 for 2024: a 5% reduction in road traffic deaths and injuries.

He assured the people of Kano State that the Command would consolidate and build upon these gains for the greater good of all, urging the public to adhere to traffic rules and regulations for their safety and that of others.
