A daring kidnapping incident occurred in Garo town, Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State, in the early hours of Sunday.
Suspected kidnappers attacked the residence of a prominent businessman, Alhaji Auwal, abducting his eldest daughter, Zainab, after extorting ₦8 million from the family.
Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants, numbering ten, stormed the house at about 1:20 a.m., with three of them armed with guns and the rest carrying other weapons.
The attackers forced their way into the house by breaking through a smaller door and gathered the family members in one place, creating an atmosphere of fear and panic.
Despite the family’s desperate plea for safety and the payment of ₦8 million ransom, the kidnappers abducted the young lady, a secondary school graduate, before escaping.
The whereabouts of the abducted lady remain unknown, as the kidnappers have yet to contact the family.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with residents urging authorities to address the escalating insecurity in the area.
The Kano Police Command has confirmed the incident, with spokesperson SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa assuring that an investigation has been launched to apprehend the perpetrators.
