The Wife of the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Her Excellency, Amb. Dr. Amina Umar Namadi, popularly known as Uwar Marayu and Garkuwar Matan Africa, has been selected as one of the recipients of the prestigious “50 Outstanding Women of Excellence” Award in commemoration of the 2026 International Women’s Day.

The honour, conferred by Aso Multi Media, organisers of the International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026 Conference and Awards, is in recognition of her outstanding achievements, leadership qualities, innovation and humanitarian service that have made significant impact within her community and beyond.

In a formal letter of notification dated February 6, 2026, and signed by Amb. Desmond Femi Agboola on behalf of the Central Working Committee, the organisers described the First Lady as a distinguished role model whose dedication, resilience and commitment to excellence continue to inspire many.

According to the organisers, the award celebrates women whose strength in leadership, innovative contributions and positive influence align with the 2026 International Women’s Day theme: “Celebrating Strength, Innovation & Influence.”

The statement noted that the 50 Outstanding Women of Excellence Award recognises women who have consistently broken barriers, shaped narratives and contributed meaningfully to national development and global progress.

Amb. Dr. Namadi is expected to be formally honoured at the International Women’s Day 2026 Award Ceremony scheduled to hold on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Wells Carlton Hotels and Apartments, Asokoro, Abuja, by 4:00 p.m.
Further details of the event, the organisers said, will be communicated to the award recipients in due course.

The recognition adds to the growing list of accolades received by the Jigawa State First Lady for her advocacy and humanitarian initiatives, particularly in support of women, vulnerable groups and orphaned children.
