A renewed momentum toward grassroots political inclusion and citizen empowerment echoed through the corridors of the Government House, Dutse, on Saturday as the Wife of the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Her Excellency, Ambassador (Dr.) Amina Umar Namadi, met with members of the APC Membership E-Registration and National Identification Number (NIN) Modification Teams.
The high-level engagement, held on February 1, 2026, convened coordinators and 32 trained field operatives drawn from across the state.
It served as a strategic review forum to assess progress, address operational challenges, and reinvigorate the workforce driving the ongoing dual exercise of APC e-registration and NIN modification—two initiatives increasingly viewed as pillars of inclusive governance and democratic participation.
Opening the session, the First Lady—fondly known as Uwar Marayu and Garkuwar Matan Africa—commended the operatives for their dedication and resilience, describing their work as essential to strengthening grassroots participation and ensuring that citizens are not left behind in political and civic processes.
“This assignment goes beyond numbers; it is about giving people a voice and a place in the democratic space,” she noted, underscoring the link between accurate data capture, national identity management, and party consolidation.
Field reports were presented by participants trained under the supervision of Dr. Salma Wakili, Ado Maji, and Yakubu Ali, highlighting milestones recorded across local government areas as well as constraints encountered in hard-to-reach communities.
The discussions emphasized the strategic value of reliable data—not only for effective service delivery but also for deepening trust and participation at the community level.
Responding to the briefings, Amb. Dr. Amina Umar Namadi reaffirmed that efficient NIN modification and seamless APC e-registration remain critical to expanding the party’s reach while empowering citizens to fully participate in democratic processes.
She praised the teams’ perseverance in the face of logistical challenges and assured them of continued support.
To boost efficiency, especially in remote locations with limited power supply, the First Lady distributed power banks to operatives.
She also set fresh performance benchmarks, encouraging team members to expand their teams by five additional hands and work toward a daily registration target of at least 600 persons.
Commending the initiative, the Deputy Coordinator, NIN Jigawa State, Umar Idris, described the exercise as “the best so far” in the state, attributing its success to strong coordination and leadership support.
In a gesture that blended motivation with recognition, Amb. Dr. Amina Umar Namadi presented cash awards of ₦50,000 each to three top-performing operatives—Baffa Arab (Aujara LGA), Abdulrahman Ayuba (Birnin Kudu LGA), and Yakubu A. (Dutse LGA).
She further pledged four new mobile phones to enhance field efficiency for Kamalu Muktari, Mustapha Suleiman, Muhammad Nuraddeen, and Jabir Yusuf, responding to specific requests from the teams.
Branded T-shirts and face caps were also distributed, reinforcing team identity and morale.
In her closing advisory remarks, the First Lady urged the operatives to remain disciplined, professional, and community-minded, reminding them that they are ambassadors of both the programme and the values it represents.
The meeting concluded with expressions of appreciation from participants, followed by prayers—an affirmation of shared resolve to sustain momentum and deliver measurable, people-centred outcomes across Jigawa State.
