Police Arrest Six Suspected Thieves, Recover Stolen Tricycles in Kano

The Police Command in Kano State has arrested six suspects over alleged theft and receiving of stolen property in different parts of the state.

This is contained in a statement issued in Kano by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa.

According to him, five of the suspects were arrested following a report of a stolen tricycle at Panshekara Quarters in Kano.
Kiyawa said the stolen tricycle, valued at ₦3.5 million, was sold to one Umar Bello Dahiru for ₦2.6 million.

He noted that during investigation, the suspects confessed to stealing another tricycle, which was also sold to Dahiru for ₦2.7 million.

The police spokesperson disclosed that two tricycles and a horse allegedly purchased with proceeds of the crime were recovered, while Dahiru admitted buying the tricycles despite knowing they were stolen.

He said the recovered tricycles had been returned to their rightful owners.

Kiyawa further stated that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Ibrahim Bakori, had directed a thorough investigation into the case to ensure that all those involved are brought to justice.

He reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
