The leadership of the Kakaki Progressive Association (KPA) has embarked on a visit to various Tafsir venues and Islamic centres in Kakaki as part of efforts to encourage clerics and faithful during the holy month of Ramadan.

The delegation, led by the President of the association, Alhaji Amin Mahmood, visited several centres where Qur’anic exegesis sessions are being held, offering words of encouragement to the Ulamas who have dedicated their time to teaching and guiding the Muslim community.

The visit formed part of the association’s annual Ramadan outreach aimed at strengthening unity and promoting moral values within the community.

Speaking during the visit, Alhaji Amin Mahmood, who was represented by the Secretary of the association, Malam Nuraddeen Jalaluddeen, explained that the primary purpose of the engagement was to appreciate and motivate the Islamic scholars for their relentless efforts in propagating the teachings of the Noble Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), particularly during the sacred month of Ramadan.

He described their commitment as vital to fostering spiritual growth and discipline among the faithful.

Mahmood commended the Ulamas for their steadfastness in guiding the community towards righteousness, noting that their teachings play a crucial role in shaping attitudes and strengthening faith.

He urged members of the community to seize the opportunity presented by Ramadan to internalise and practise the lessons learnt from the Tafsir sessions, emphasising the importance of sustaining such virtues beyond the fasting period.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Education Committee of the association, Malam Halliru Umar, PhD, reaffirmed the committee’s resolve to continue collaborating with Islamic scholars to develop strategies that would instil in young people a strong passion for Islamic education and moral upbringing.

He stressed that youth development through sound religious knowledge remains key to building a responsible and progressive society.

In their separate remarks, the Ulamas expressed appreciation to the association for the visit and the show of solidarity.

They thanked the leadership of KPA for recognising their efforts and pledged to continue offering spiritual guidance to the community, while praying for sustained peace, unity and progress in Kakaki and beyond.
