Ambassador Dr Amina Namadi Hosts Women Leaders to Iftar in Jigawa

The Wife of the Jigawa State Governor, Amina Umar Namadi, has hosted women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other female political stakeholders to a special Ramadan Iftar aimed at strengthening unity and promoting women’s participation in governance.

 

The event, held on Friday at the Banquet Hall of Government House in Dutse, brought together newly elected APC State Women Leaders, Local Government Women Leaders and their deputies from across Jigawa State.

Speaking at the gathering, the governor’s wife, popularly known as Uwar Marayu and Garkuwar Matan Africa, said the Ramadan Iftar was organized to provide a platform for women in leadership to interact, reflect on the spiritual significance of Ramadan and strengthen their commitment to service and community development.

 

She commended the dedication of women leaders within the party structure, noting that their grassroots mobilization and support had continued to contribute significantly to the growth of the party and the development of the state.

The event also attracted several prominent personalities including the wife of the Deputy Speaker, Ambassador Zainab Umar Isiya, the wife of the Secretary to the State Government, wives of commissioners, the APC State Women Leader and her team, as well as chairladies and women political stakeholders from different local government areas.

 

Participants were urged to remain united and continue mobilizing women at the grassroots level to support government policies and programs designed to improve the living conditions of citizens.

During the programme, goodwill messages were conveyed on behalf of the Jigawa State Governor, Umar A. Namadi, who commended the women leaders for their loyalty and commitment to the party and the state. He encouraged them to continue supporting government initiatives aimed at promoting development and social welfare.

 

Goodwill was also extended on behalf of the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose administration, according to the message, remains committed to inclusive governance and the promotion of women’s participation in leadership.
At sunset, the participants collectively observed the Iftar in the spirit of Ramadan, sharing prayers for peace, unity and progress in the state and the country at large.

 

As part of the support extended by the governor’s wife during the Ramadan season, each participant received the sum of ₦20,000 and a wrapper as a gesture of appreciation for their commitment and service.

 

The programme also served as a platform for networking and collaboration among women leaders from various local government areas, further strengthening solidarity within the APC structure in the state.

 

Participants expressed appreciation to Mrs Namadi for her generosity and continued support for women in governance, describing the initiative as a step towards empowering female political leaders and enhancing their role in the development of Jigawa State.

 

The event concluded with prayers for sustained peace, prosperity and progress in Jigawa State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
