The Director-General of the National Productivity Centre, Dr. Baffa Babba Dan’agundi, has commended Abba Kabir Yusuf for what he described as a demonstration of fairness and inclusive leadership following the governor’s entry into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Dr. Dan’agundi made the remarks on Saturday while addressing journalists in his office, expressing gratitude for what he termed a positive political development for the APC in Kano State. He said the governor’s decision to join the party had strengthened unity and reinforced confidence among members across the state.
According to him, Governor Yusuf has shown statesmanship by embracing party members without bias or discrimination. He noted that in several instances where the governor was entitled to about 60 per cent of the APC leadership positions, he stepped aside to allow original party members to nominate the majority of candidates as a deliberate move to promote fairness and unity within the party.
Dr. Dan’agundi called on party members to consolidate on the prevailing unity, urging original APC members to remain loyal to former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. He said such loyalty should be demonstrated through full support and obedience to Governor Yusuf as the recognised APC leader in Kano State, stressing that party discipline requires adherence to a clear chain of command.
Speaking on behalf of the Tinubu Support Groups in Kano State, he pledged commitment to grassroots mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming elections, assuring that members would work from the grassroots to the polling units to secure victory for Governor Yusuf and all APC candidates.
He also expressed satisfaction with the growing cooperation among party leaders at the local level, particularly in Kano Municipal Local Government. Dr. Dan’agundi commended the council chairman, Hon. Salim Hashim; the member representing Kano Municipal in the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Nabil Sarki Aliyu; and Alhaji Nura Hussaini, President of the Kwankwasiyya movement faction that joined the APC, for fostering unity and collective action.
He urged other local governments across Kano State to emulate the Kano Municipal example to strengthen party cohesion and secure electoral success statewide.
