Forum of Legislators’ Media Aides Elects New National Executive

The Forum of Legislators’ Media Aides in the 10th National House of Representatives has elected a new set of national executives to steer the affairs of the association and strengthen coordination among media aides working with members of the House.

 

The newly elected officials are expected to provide leadership for the forum, enhance professionalism in legislative communication, and promote effective information dissemination on the activities of the House of Representatives.

 

At the helm of the forum is Valentine Jideofo Akus, who emerged as the National Chairman. His election is seen as a move aimed at consolidating the forum’s role in improving synergy among media aides attached to lawmakers across the country.

 

Supporting him in the leadership structure is Fatihu Yusuf Bichi, who was elected as the National Vice Chairman representing the North-West zone. Stephen Likali Gana will serve as the National Vice Chairman for the South-West, while Jude Okafor Ani takes the position of National Vice Chairman representing the North-Central.

 

Also elected into the executive council is Okwori Mary Ogbene, who will serve as the National Vice Chairman for the South-South, while Adamoh-Faniyan Bolaji was elected as the National Vice Chairman representing the North-East zone.

 

The forum also elected Ahmed A. Bana as the Secretary General, with Fati Bashir serving as the Assistant Secretary General to support administrative coordination and documentation of the forum’s activities.

 

In other positions, Hussaini Mohamed Bello emerged as the Organizing Secretary, while Etim Francis Bassey was elected as the National Treasurer responsible for managing the forum’s financial affairs.

 

The new leadership also includes Ogbimi Eloho Bertha as the Publicity Secretary, tasked with managing public communication and media relations of the forum, while Atuu Terver will serve as the Public Relations Officer II.

 

Other members of the executive council include Adaa Timothy Gbaden as the Auditor, Barrister John Samuel as the Legal Adviser, and Pembi David Stephen as the Welfare Officer responsible for the wellbeing of members.

 

The election of the new executives marks a significant step in strengthening the structure of the Forum of Legislators’ Media Aides, which serves as a platform for media professionals working with lawmakers to collaborate, share ideas, and enhance the visibility of legislative activities in Nigeria.

 

Members of the forum expressed optimism that the new leadership will work collectively to advance the objectives of the association and further promote effective communication between the National Assembly and the public.
