Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, has commended the Federal Government of Nigeria for reallocating the contract for the reconstruction of the Kano–Kaduna–Abuja dual carriageway, describing the move as a step toward ensuring the speedy and quality completion of the project.
Yusuf made the remark during an inspection visit to the ongoing road construction along Zaria Road in Kano.
The governor said the reallocation of the contract clearly demonstrated the commitment of the Federal Government to ensure that the project was executed with the required standard and within the stipulated timeframe.
He urged the contractors handling the project to ensure that they delivered quality work and avoid any form of substandard construction, stressing the need for durability and effective service delivery for road users.
The governor also commended Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of Nigeria, for his continued efforts toward executing developmental projects in the region.
Yusuf expressed optimism that the completion of the Kano–Kaduna–Abuja dual carriageway would boost economic activities, improve transportation and enhance connectivity between the northern states and the nation’s capital.
