The wife of the Jigawa State Governor, Ambassador Dr. Amina Umar Namadi, has congratulated women across Jigawa State, Nigeria and the world as they celebrate the 2026 International Women’s Day.
In a message to mark the occasion, Ambassador Dr. Amina Umar Namadi described women as vital pillars in the development of families, communities and the nation, noting that their contributions continue to shape a more inclusive and progressive society.
She commended women for their resilience, determination and courage in overcoming numerous challenges and breaking barriers in different sectors of the economy, education, leadership and entrepreneurship.
According to her, the role of women in nation building cannot be overemphasized, stressing that empowering women and girls remains key to sustainable development and social progress.
Ambassador Dr. Amina Umar Namadi also emphasized the need to support women through improved access to quality education, healthcare services and economic opportunities in line with the 2026 International Women’s Day theme, “Rights, Justice, Action for All Women and Girls.”
She reaffirmed that the Jigawa State Government remains committed to implementing programmes and initiatives that promote the welfare, empowerment and inclusion of women across the state.
The First Lady therefore encouraged women to continue supporting one another, remain steadfast in their pursuits and work collectively towards achieving gender equality and a brighter future for all.
