The Zone One Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Kano has decorated thirty officers recently promoted from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP II), in a ceremony marked by commendations and renewed calls for professionalism.
The decoration ceremony was conducted on behalf of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone One, Garba Ahmed, by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Zonal Criminal Investigation Department, Adedeji Taiwo Abdulmajeed.
He was supported by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Muhammad Ibrahim Sa’ad, and the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Finance and Administration, Mustapha Waziri.
In his address, DCP Adedeji described the promotion as a testament to the officers’ dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to duty.
He emphasized that elevation in rank within the Force goes beyond status, noting that it comes with increased responsibility and greater public trust.
“Promotion in the Police is not merely an advancement in rank but a call to higher responsibility,” he said, urging the newly decorated officers to uphold professionalism, discipline, and integrity in all aspects of their service.
He also reminded them to acknowledge the sacrifices and steadfast support of their families throughout their careers, stressing that exemplary conduct and quality service delivery are essential to projecting a positive image of the Force.
Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Ibrahim Garba expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission for approving their promotion.
He also appreciated the AIG and members of the Zonal Management Team for organizing the ceremony.
ASP Garba assured that the officers are fully aware of the responsibilities attached to their new rank and pledged, on behalf of his colleagues, renewed commitment, professionalism, and dedication in line with the core values and vision of the Nigeria Police Force.
The event was attended by senior officers, colleagues, and family members who gathered to witness the decoration of the newly promoted ASPs at the Zone One Headquarters in Kano.
