World Tuberculosis Day: Dr. Amina Umar Namadi Calls for Collective Action Against TB

The First Lady of Jigawa State and Tuberculosis Ambassador, Dr. Amina Umar Namadi, has urged Nigerians to unite in the fight against tuberculosis (TB), describing the disease as a preventable and curable condition that still poses a serious public health challenge.

In a message to mark World Tuberculosis Day, Dr. Namadi emphasized the importance of raising awareness, encouraging early testing, and ensuring strict adherence to treatment.

She noted that many lives can be saved if individuals seek medical attention promptly and complete their medication as prescribed.

She highlighted the need to break the stigma and misconceptions surrounding TB, which often prevent affected persons from coming forward for diagnosis and care.
