A political group, Voice of Kano North, has declared its support for the Deputy Senate President, Barau I. Jibrin, ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing his performance and developmental strides in Kano North Senatorial District.
In a statement, the group said it was backing the lawmaker for continuity, good governance, and sustainable development, noting that his leadership has brought significant progress to the zone.
The group commended Senator Jibrin’s contributions to human capital development, particularly in the education sector, where it said he facilitated the establishment of institutions and learning centres, including open university programmes and outreach centres across the 13 local government areas in Kano North.
It also highlighted his role in attracting federal institutions such as a university of science and technology in Kabo, as well as security and paramilitary training institutions in Bichi and Gwarzo, alongside other projects aimed at improving infrastructure and public services.
According to the group, ongoing infrastructure projects, including the Kano–Gwarzo–Dayi road, and various interventions in healthcare, agriculture, and community development have significantly improved living standards across the senatorial district.
The group further stated that Senator Jibrin’s record in Gwarzo Local Government Area, in particular, stands out in terms of education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic empowerment initiatives.
Voice of Kano North reaffirmed its commitment and loyalty to the lawmaker, stressing that the district cannot afford to lose what it described as experienced and impactful representation in the National Assembly.
