Police Arrest Motorcycle Theft Suspect, Recover Stolen Bajaj Boxer in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has arrested a suspected motorcycle thief and recovered a stolen Bajaj Boxer motorcycle in Badawa Quarters of Kano.

The Command disclosed that the arrest followed credible information received on April 9, 2026, at about 5:30 p.m., alleging that a 43-year-old man, Abdullahi A. Abdulhamid of Tishama Hotoro Quarters, had stolen a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle with registration number SRA 306 VF. The motorcycle belongs to Rabiu Muhammad of Gezawa Local Government Area.

According to the Police, officers were immediately mobilised to the scene after the report. The suspect was later intercepted and arrested along Arewa Surgery by Ring Road in Badawa Quarters after being involved in an accident.

The stolen motorcycle was recovered and taken to the police station along with the suspect for further investigation.

Authorities said the suspect would be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the swift response of officers and appreciated members of the public for providing timely information that led to the arrest and recovery.

He also advised motorcycle and tricycle operators to be cautious in handling their property, warning against handing over motorcycles to strangers and urging them to park in secure locations.

The Command reiterated its commitment to tackling crime and urged residents to continue supporting the police by reporting suspicious activities through designated emergency lines or the NPF Rescue Me application.
