Development Association has declared its support for the nomination of Kabiru Alhassan Usman Rurum as Deputy Governor of Kano State, citing his experience and contributions to public service.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Umar Yunusa Rano (Danburan), the association expressed appreciation for Rurum’s leadership and endorsed his candidacy for the position.
The group noted that Rurum, who represents Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has built a distinguished political career spanning several positions, including Councillor, Director, Member of the Kano State House of Assembly, Majority Leader and Speaker.
According to the association, his tenure in public office has been marked by developmental initiatives such as the 33KVA electrification project across Wudil–Rano–Kibiya–Bunkure, the establishment of the Federal Polytechnic Rano, and efforts toward the passage of the Federal Medical Centre Rano bill.
The statement commended his leadership style, describing it as inclusive and transparent, and expressed confidence in his ability to effectively serve as Deputy Governor if appointed.
The association also offered prayers for continued guidance and success in his service to the people.
