Kano state house of assembly (KNHA), has passed Sa’adatu Rimi university of education, kumbotso bill, Kano state pension and gratuity law, and Kano state traffic amendment law.
The passage was sequel to the 3rd reading of the bills by the clerk KNHA , Alhaji Garba Bako Gezawa, after deliberations in the committee of the whole house.
Meanwhile, the passage paved way for the upgrade of Saadatu Rimi college of education kumbotso,to a university of education, while the pension and gratuity law 2023 allows Kano civil servants to serve for 35 and retire at the age of 65 years.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after plenary, majority leader of the house, Alhaji Labaran Abdul Madari explained that, the amended pension and gratuity law, would ensure adequate utilization of pension funds by the state accountant general.
He highlighted that,the amendment of the traffic law would checkmate traffic violations, in addition to increasing revenue generation from road offenders and other relevant stakeholders.
” The Kano state traffic amendment law is out dated as it was enacted in 1963″
In a similar development, Kano house has confirmed Dr. Muhammad Nazifi Bichi as commissioner, and member of the state executive council.
The nominee scaled the screening and was duly confirmed by the house to be appointed as commissioner.
According to the speaker,Alhaji Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, Dr. Muhammad Nazifi Bichi had successfully fulfilled all the necessary criteria, and responded to questions during the screening.
In his remarks,the newly confirmed commissioner,thanked Kano state governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for the confidence reposed on him and promised to discharge his duties accordingly.
