Kano Police Arrest Nine Suspected Armed Robbers, Recover Weapons and Stolen Items

 

 

The Kano State Police Command has arrested nine suspected members of an armed robbery syndicate linked to a series of violent robberies across Kano, Kaduna, and Abuja.

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, announced the arrests at a press conference at the Command Headquarters in Bompai.

 

He said the breakthrough followed a robbery incident on October 8, 2025, at Unguwar Wambai, Dorayi Babba Quarters, Kano, where armed robbers attacked a residence around 2 a.m.

The suspects allegedly made away with a Toyota Yaris vehicle, N3.7 million in cash (local and foreign currency), three mobile phones, and other valuables.

During the attack, they reportedly assaulted the female victim, knocking out one of her teeth with a diamond object.

Following a swift response by officers from Dorayi Divisional Headquarters, one suspect was initially arrested. A follow-up operation by the Command’s Special Intervention Squad (SIS) led to the arrest of eight additional suspects across locations in Kano and Kaduna states.

The suspects, aged between 17 and 24, were identified as Abubakar Aminu 22yrs,Aliyu Aliyu 23yrs ,Abubakar Usman 22yrs,Sulaiman Sani 20yrs.

Other’s were Yusuf Yusuf (17),Abdulrahman Aliyu (23),Salisu Hussaini (17),Sulaiman Abdullahi (20) and Abdulmutallib Sa’ad (24)

CP Bakori said the suspects have confessed to multiple armed robbery operations and are linked to another recent robbery in Unguwar Jakada, also in Kano.

Items recovered from the suspects include,One double-barrel gun with 18 live cartridges,One English Falcon pistol,One scrapped Phoenix pistol,An iron cutter,Two cutlasses among others.

 

The Commissioner said all suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations, and efforts are ongoing to recover more stolen items.
