Baitussalam Islamiyya School, Dutsinma, on Saturday graduated over 48 students at its 10th Qur’anic Graduation Ceremony, with Muslim faithful urged to live their daily lives in strict accordance with the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the traditions of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Delivering the keynote charge at the ceremony, the Leader of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) in Dutsinma Local Government Area, Alhaji Badamasi Sulaiman Karofi, stressed that adherence to Islamic teachings remains the surest path to success in this world and the hereafter.
Alhaji Karofi said parents have a critical role to play in shaping the moral and religious upbringing of their children, noting that proper Islamic guidance would shield young people from negative influences such as extremism, political thuggery, hooliganism, banditry and other social vices.
According to him, when parents diligently instill sound moral and religious values in their wards, society would be spared the consequences of deviant ideologies and criminal tendencies. He therefore called on the Muslim Ummah to consistently uphold the Qur’an and Hadith in both conduct and character, in order to become responsible and exemplary members of society.
In their goodwill messages, the District Head of Dutsinma, Alhaji Sada Mohammed Sada, represented by the Barayan Yandaka, Sani Abdullahi DK, and the Chairman of Dutsinma Local Government Area, Alhaji Kabir Shema, represented by Malam Ahamed Sa’id, urged Muslims—regardless of sect or gender—to invest in Islamic education. They emphasized that such investment would yield eternal rewards on the Day of Judgment while also fostering peace and development in society.
Earlier in separate remarks, Malam Iliyasu Imam and Malam Daha Abdullahi SA, both religious officials in Dutsinma, appealed to parents to ensure prompt payment of school fees to enable the school meet its obligations, particularly the payment of teachers’ salaries and the improvement of teaching and learning facilities.
They also advised the graduating students not to rest on their laurels, but to continue the pursuit of knowledge by combining both Western and Islamic education, describing education as a vital tool for personal growth and community development.
The high point of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates to the 48 graduating students, alongside the conferment of merit awards on individuals who have contributed significantly to the growth and development of Baitussalam Islamiyya School. The event also featured an educative debate showcasing the ideal conduct of Muslims in both learning and practice.
The colourful ceremony attracted religious leaders, traditional rulers, government representatives, parents and well-wishers from across Dutsinma and its environs, underscoring the growing importance of Islamic education in the area.
