The Kano State Government has awarded financial support of N526,000 each to 177 law students to enable them continue their legal education at the Nigerian Law School.

The support package, announced during an official presentation ceremony, is part of the state government’s efforts to strengthen the legal profession and promote access to justice through sustained investment in education.

Speaking at the event, the Secretary to the Kano State Government, Farouk Umar, said the administration recognizes the critical importance of legal practitioners, especially in safeguarding the rule of law and ensuring fairness in society.

He noted that the decision to provide the financial assistance was aimed at reducing the economic challenges faced by the students while pursuing their professional training, thereby allowing them to concentrate fully on their studies.

In his remarks, the Kano State Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Abdulkarim Maude, SAN, expressed confidence that the beneficiaries would make the state proud through exemplary conduct and academic excellence during their stay at the law school.

He urged the students to see the gesture as both an opportunity and a responsibility, encouraging them to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to becoming competent legal practitioners who will contribute meaningfully to the development of Kano State and the nation at large.
