In a landmark development aimed at strengthening the spiritual foundation of governance in Kano State, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Friday officially commissioned a newly constructed Jumu’at mosque within the premises of the Kano Government House.

The commissioning ceremony, which coincided with the Friday congregational prayers, drew a large gathering of worshippers, government officials, religious leaders, and dignitaries from across the state.

The Jumu’at prayer was led by the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, who offered prayers for peace, unity, and continued progress in Kano State.

The newly built mosque, strategically situated within the Government House complex, is designed to accommodate a significant number of worshippers, providing a serene and befitting space for weekly congregational prayers and other religious activities.

Speaking at the event, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf described the mosque as more than just a structure, noting that it represents the administration’s commitment to fostering moral guidance and spiritual consciousness within the corridors of power.

He emphasized that leadership grounded in faith and ethical values is essential for sustainable development and good governance.

“This mosque will serve as a center for reflection, prayer, and guidance, not only for those working within the Government House but also as a symbol of our dedication to upholding spiritual values in public service,” the Governor stated.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Alhaji Hamza Safiyanu Kachako, commended the Governor for what he termed a visionary and thoughtful initiative.

He said the establishment of a befitting Jumu’at mosque within the seat of power reflects foresight and respect for the religious needs of the people.

According to Kachako, the presence of the mosque within the Government House enhances the spiritual atmosphere of the state’s leadership and reinforces the importance of seeking divine guidance in governance.

He offered prayers for Almighty Allah to reward Governor Yusuf abundantly for the project and grant him good health and wisdom as he continues to steer Kano State toward progress and prosperity.

Religious scholars present at the ceremony also highlighted the significance of providing accessible worship facilities in public institutions, describing the mosque as a symbol of unity and collective responsibility.

The commissioning ceremony concluded with special prayers for Kano State, Nigeria, and the continued peace and stability of the nation.

The new mosque now stands not only as a place of worship but also as a testament to the administration’s resolve to provide essential facilities that cater to the spiritual well-being of government officials and the wider community.
